چکیده

Background: Continuous Positive airway pressure (CPAP) is a non-invasive form of respiratory support, which safe and effective in neonates with distress. The purpose this study to predict the length stay on bubble CPAP by correlating initial duration it respect gestational age, birth weight distress scores. Objective: To correlate thereby predicting analyzing factors responsible for failure. Materials Methods: A prospective longitudinal was conducted over period 2 years requiring CPAP. Applying Pearsoncoefficient, correlated different variables. statistical analysis performed using SPSS (Version 20.0). P value <0.05 considered as statistically significant. Results: Out 246 enrolled, 211(85.77%) were successfully treated CPAP, mean 1.66 kg 32.64 hours. Pearson co- efficient there negative correlation, 35(14.23%) failed predictors failure prematurity (51.43%), asphyxia (8.6%), age at initiation sepsis (8.57%), Downes score Silverman Anderson more than 6. Other maternal neonatal variables did not influence need mechanical ventilation. Conclusion: set are negatively that is, higher significant reduction can be predicted set.

Correlation between Quality of Care and Length of Hospital Stay in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit

Background: Length of hospital stay (LHS) is the most important and practical indicator in hospitals, which largely reflects the level of hospital performance and activity. It is also an important indicator for resource planning. Moreover, the quality of care can theoretically be related to LHS. The aim of this study was to investigate the relationship between LHS and quality of nursing care in...

Comparison of the Therapeutic Effects of Bubble CPAP and Ventilator CPAP on Respiratory Distress Syndrome in Premature Neonates

Background: Respiratory distress syndrome is one of the main complications associated with low birth weight, and a main cause of mortality in premature neonates. The present study aimed to compare the efficacy of ventilator continuous positive airway pressure (CPAP) and bubble CPAP in the treatment of respiratory distress syndrome (RDS) in premature neonates. Methods: This randomized controlled...
